Empowering children and teens of all abilities to make music

What is music therapy?

'“Music Therapy is the clinical & evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program. Music therapy interventions can address a variety of healthcare & educational goals” -AMTA

How I define music therapy:
A therapeutic approach and an opportunity to build skills through making music. These skills are built through several music-based interventions, improve music-making, and eventually translate to daily living.

Why music therapy?

Music therapy has been shown to be very effective in helping neurodivergent and non-speaking individuals with communication and social skills, targeting self-expression, developing fine and gross motor, and sensory-motor integration. Music therapy in a group setting allows individuals to connect with others in a social context by removing several barriers to communication
